Concept to Enable Pallet Automation for Single-Table Machine Tools
Are you losing potential of your powerful machining center because it is not designed to be automated? Automating single-table machine tools for quick pallet changeovers is cumbersome and with the required machine retrofits, often also unfeasible.
eLock is a new concept enabling cost-efficient pallet automation for single-table machining centers. Based on electromagnetic power transmission, eLock is a patent-pending, bolt-on zero-point pallet solution – requiring no media or wiring lead-throughs on the machine tool table.

PALLET INTERCHANGING MECHANISM
How Does eLock Concept Work?
A pallet switch table with an electromagnetic locking mechanism (receiver) is bolted on the machine tool’s own table. There is no power or other cabling needed from the machine tool itself.
Automation load handler equipped with a transmitter counterpart delivers pallets to and from the machine tool. The transmitter controls an electromagnetic locking mechanism. Once the receiver and transmitter of the locking mechanism meet, the system can either lock or unlock the pallet on the machine table.
eLock is fully powered and controlled by Fastems automation system. The only retrofit the machine tool requires is door opening automation, also offered by Fastems.
