Vacuum pallet solutions

The use of composite structures in modern aircraft is on the rise. The machining solutions for these composite structures require new types of fixturing technology. One commonly used solution is vacuum-based fixtures. The vacuum must be preserved at all times until the machined part is unclamped from the machining fixture. This presents new challenges when vacuum fixtures are used in FMS systems.

Fastems provides a comprehensive solution for managing vacuum fixtures. Each loading station, storage place, and the stacker crane are equipped with automatically connected vacuum systems. When the stacker crane transfers the pallets, there is a handshake system that ensures that the device to which the pallet is transferred has connected its vacuum system before the device from which the pallet is transferred can unplug its vacuum.

Vacuum pallet handling is always designed on case-by-case basis.
